Business Development & Consultancy – International Development Finance

Starting early August 2023 (20h/week), Berlin

LANDT is looking for a part-time Student Assistant (f/m/d) to support the various areas of its global business development and project management activities. This includes supporting new business acquisitions, preparing for competitive tenders, expanding the pool of external technical consultants, supporting the management and implementation of consulting projects, and strategic thinking on tapping into development sector funding sources and stakeholders.

This position will be based in Berlin, Germany.

Your Tasks:

  • Identify relevant new business opportunities in the areas of credit guarantee funds, MSME finance, and broader ‘access to finance’ related topics in line with LANDT’s business strategy
  • Support in developing concept notes, undertaking research activities, and organizing consultation meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify suitable external consultants for projects using in-house recruiting tools
  • Support in the tendering process which includes drafting texts for the project proposals, compiling documents, proofreading proposals, performing required formatting/layout checks, and other logistical support
  • Support in project management as per the need
  • Prepare work presentations and briefing documents and facilitate periodic internal team meetings
  • Work closely with the communication team on aligning external communication material of business development activities

Your Profile:

  • Master or Bachelor student, preferably in business, economics, finance, or other relevant fields
  • Relevant work experience in consulting with a focus on international development finance is preferred
  • Understanding of MSME finance topics
  • Previous experience in IT/digitalization topics is a plus
  • Ability to respond to tight deadlines with effective prioritization among multiple workstreams
  • Desire to take ownership of assigned activities with the ability to work and deliver independently
  • Eye for details, highly structured, and willing to understand nuances and go deeper into topics
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present complexities articulately and clearly
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of proficiency in the English language. Proficiency in other World Bank working languages is a plus
