We are pleased that you are interested in us and are applying or have applied for a position in our company. The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you with information on the processing of your personal data in connection with your job application.

What data do we process and for what purpose?

We process the data that you have provided us with in connection with your application in order to check your suitability for the position (or other open positions in our company, if applicable) and to carry out the application process.

 

What is the legal basis for that?

The legal basis for processing your personal data in this application process is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR in connection with § 26 BDSG. Processing of your data is permitted and necessary for our decision on establishing an employment contract.

Data processing can additionally be based on the requirements of Art. 6 GDPR, in particular for the protection of legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Processing data may be necessary for legal prosecution after the application process has been completed. Our interest then lies in the assertion or defense against claims.

 

How long do we store your data?

Applicants’ data will be deleted after 6 months if no employment contract is concluded.

If you have consented to further storage of your personal data, we will transfer your data to our applicant data pool. Data in this pool will be deleted after two years.

If your job application has been successful, your data will be transferred from the applicant data pool to our system.

 

Who are the recipients of this data?

We use a specialized software provider, BambooHR, for the application process. BambooHR acts as a service provider for us and may also receive knowledge of your personal data in connection with the maintenance of their systems.

We link to BambooHR on our website. You can send us your application directly using the application form on the BambooHR website. We have entered into a so-called data processing agreement with this provider.

After we have received your application, it will be reviewed by our HR department. Suitable applications are then internally forwarded to those responsible for the respective position. Your data will only be accessed by our employees if it is necessary for the application process.

 

Where is the data processed?

Your data is only processed and stored in data centers in the European Union. We have chosen Ireland as the storage location for the data processed via BambooHR.

 

Your rights as the “data subject”

You have the right to information about the personal data we process about you.

If we receive a request for information that is not in writing, please understand that we may ask you to provide proof that you are the person you claim to be.

In the case of a request for information that is not made in writing, we ask for your understanding that we may then ask you to provide proof that you are the person you claim to be.

You also have the right to correction, deletion or restriction of processing your personal data if you are legally entitled to it.

You also have the right to object to processing if you are legally entitled to it. The same applies to a right to data portability.
