1.1 Visiting Our Website and Contacting Us
Visitors can normally use our website without entering personal data. In some cases, if a visitor decides to provide us with personal information, or other information through e-mail, LT will store and use visitor’s information only for the intended purpose of the communication. This data is deleted when it is no longer required for the intended purpose.
1.2 Server Data
For technical reasons, LT receives data about the visitors, which the visitor’s internet browser transmits to LT or its web space provider. These data are the following:
- type and version of the browser the visitor uses
- operating system
- website that linked the visitor to the website of LT(referrer URL)
- date and time of the visit
This data is stored separately from any personal information the visitor may have provided, which means that it is impossible to connect this data to any particular person. All of the data is anonymous, hence user profiles cannot be created with the personal data LT uses the data to identify trends and compile statistics (e.g. the number of users). This is done anonymously via Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). LT receives anonymous and aggregated data about the use of this site, how often various articles are called up, or the browser (such as Firefox, Internet Explorer) being used. LT uses this information to better match the site to visitors’ needs.
2. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on visitor’s computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about visitor’s use of the website (such as time, place and frequency of his/her visits, including his/her IP-address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. In using Googly Analytics LT employs the so-called IP anonymization by employing the extension “anonymizeIp”. In doing so, Google will truncate/anonymize the last octet of the IP-address before transferring it from Member States of the European Union or signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP-address is sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA. On behalf of the website provider Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating visitors’ use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. Google states that it will not associate visitors’ IP-addresses with any other data held by Google.
